Wondering why the Empire State Building is lit up in Pink today?  Well, we’re really glad you asked.

The “International Day of the Girl” is today, October 11th. The whole world is celebrating the first ever International Day of the Girl. The goal: to bring a global focus on girls’ rights.

Today, we are celebrating with our partner Plan International USA  / Because I am a Girlcelebrating the first ever “International Day of the Girl”.  Officially sanctioned by the United Nations as monuments all around the world will be brightly lit up in pink, including the Empire State building, the Egyptian pyramids, London Eye, Niagara Falls, Delhi’s Old Fort and The Mermaid in Denmark.

This is to send a powerful message to the world that with a good a education, girls can transform their lives and the lives of those around them.

In conjunction with this powerful global message Robin Bond Media is proud to announce that our documentary film “Derby, Baby!” will contribute $2.00 of every Blu-ray/DVD sold to the Because I am a Girl campaign. Further details click here.
