Web Video & TV Commercials no longer a luxury for business! Top 10 Video Resolutions for 2013

Remember when Al Gore first invented the Internet? (Kidding…)  The BIG companies started getting Web Sites, which were a sort of “Electronic Brochure.” And the medium-to-small businesses started wondering if they should splurge on a website, or was this just a passing fancy? Well, that’s where we are with web video now. I’m not trying to scare you, but if you don’t have a web video on your website – of SOME kind – well, godspeed. That said, here is PART 1 of our (recommended) Top 10 Web Video Resolutions for 2013:

1. Create a WHY video.

By now many of you have seen the Ted Talk about the WHY behind your business. It’s so true! When you tell people WHY you do what you do instead of just WHAT you do, you win them over emotionally. Suddenly, they’re rooting for your cause, not your profit center. One idea: feature employees talking about why they work for you and how they hope the company’s products or services will help customers. Be sure to make it personal.

 2.  Post customer testimonials. 

It doesn’t matter if they shot it on their iPhone. As long as the message clear and the story is well told. A story well told… is a good story.

 3.  Make a “Day in the Life” web video about your business.

Don’t worry about making it perfect (although bad audio will kill ya). “Real” as in “Reality TV” is what everyone wants to see! The more raw it is, the more voyeuristic we get to feel when watching it.

 4.  Get Stupid.

I’ll admit I sometimes have the sense of humor of an 8-year-old-boy. But I suspect many of your prospects may as well. And who doesn’t love to laugh?  Many studies show the direct connection between HUMOR and a prospect’s positive attitude about a brand. Here are some videos that made us laugh:

5.  Make FAQ Videos.
